Red, White and Blue Vacation

I'm off on a mini break to Monterey before I start my new job. It'll be a nice way to end my vacation just relaxing with family on the beach. Packing for a trip like this is never easy for me. I always bring far too much, but with the unpredictable weather there; much like San Francisco, you never know what you'll need.

Is this too much for 4 days?

Textured tops in neutral colors.

Jeans, shorts and sweaters to layer.

Rompers and a long knit skirt.

When packing for a trip I like to grab things in the same color stories to make mixing and matching easier. Then I choose a pop of a color, in this case red, to spice up the outfits. Somehow my choices ended up being red, white and blue without me even meaning to. Good thing it's the weekend of the 4th:)

On Repeat

I've been listening to nothing but Fleetwood Mac the past week. Their music really just makes me happy. That's the beauty of classic rock is that it will always be good music. Found an old video of them performing 'Over My Head'; one of my top five favorite Fleetwood Mac songs.

On The Other Side Of The Pond...

...Somewhere I wish I was. In particular, Glastonbury, to see U2; Coldplay and Beyonce headline the festival. (As well as everyone else :)
Coldplay headlined the second day of Glastonbury and Vh1 broadcast it live. It was Ahhhhmazing! I've really missed them while they've been away. Chris Martin has such great energy on stage. (I've seen them live twice!) This is possibly my favorite Coldplay song EVER. Enjoy "In My Place".

Even Beyonce, Jay Z and Gweneth were rockin' out :)

Here's some great pictures of the festival fashion. The method? Where whatever clothes you want, then hop into some wellies. No one seems bothered by the fact that they're covered in mud. Love it!

Dress Like An Icon

Designers want you to look like your favorite musician. In many of the resort collections designers looked to iconic musicians for inspiration. Well, maybe they didn't, but I found a few similarities. Now you, too can look like Michael, Stevie and Elton. I know I want to :)

DKNY Resort '12 and Michael Jackson in the 'Beat It' video.

Lanvin Resort '12 and Stevie Nicks in concert.

Rachel Zoe Resort '12 and Elton John on the cover of his Greatest Hits.

iNeed A Case

I've been hardcore searching for an ipad case that is chic, interesting and offers some sort of protection.  Because I take it EVERYWHERE with me. I'm afraid that the smart cover I currently have, will not protect from any sort of major scratches. Here are some I've found online that interest me (even if I can't afford half of them). Which on do you think iNeed?
Dooney and Bourke $65
Oscar de la Renta $290
Ted Baker $70
Rebecca Minkoff $165
Yves Saint Laurent $795
Julie Boyles $119
Dannijo $150
I think I like the Rebecca Minkoff "Touch & Go" orange one. You?

A Walk Through The Park

Had a nice relaxing Saturday. It started with a walk through Golden Gate Park- destination: The de Young Museum to see the Balenciaga and Spain exhibit. We lucked out and went the first day that the Picasso exhibit started and got 2 for the price of 1. Score!
No pictures were allowed inside: bummer:( But the designs were amazing! If I were a celebrity there were about 10 I would have chosen to wear down the red carpet. On the way out we took a pic in front of the fountain and decided to use it as an outfit post. So here ya go!

Boots: TopShop, Jeans and Mesh Tee: Madewell, Striped Shirt and
Denim Jacket: J crew, Scarf: Ryan Debonville, Bag: H&M.
