English Inspiration

In less than a week, I will be on my way across the pond to London, England. Eeeekkk! And while this trip is incredibly exciting, trying to pack for it is very difficult. Wanting to look the epitome of fashion every day since I will be in a fashion capitol of the world and pictures will be taken every day, is not an understatement. Because I was less than inspired, I went online trying to get some inspiration to build outfits.

Shopbop.com holds designer lookbooks and others that are created just for the website. Their Ultimate Closet has a host of this seasons trends and staples put together in different looks. This helped me figure out my color palette so that I can interchange items throughout the week.

The online community Chictopia.com is where anybody can upload pictures of their fashion triumphs and show them off to the public. Sounds a little funny, but it's quite addicting once you start. You can browse recent uploads, look through by garment type, or by your body shape. Somebody may post an outfit that can totally get you inspired to put things together you may not have thought of before.

My Favorite Things

Sine I hadn't updated in awhile, I thought I would do a post on all my favorite things right now. (This week anyway). Just call me Oprah- but I'm not giving anything away- sorry  :)

Favorite Website: We Are Hunted
Featuring all the current upcoming bands and songs. A-MA-ZING (Saying it like Rachel Zoe)
(Thanks to Geri from because im addicted for the tip :)

Favorite Of the Moment Accessory: LowLuv by Erin Wasson Double Knuckle Ring

Found this beauty while shopping in the Mission this past weekend at Bell Jar. Such a cute and unique shop full of indie labels and amazing jewelry! Click here to shop more of the collection.

Favorite Boutique: 826 Valencia
I don't know why I never knew about this store before! For pirate lovers everywhere, they sell anything from mermaid bait to pirate dice. Will be visiting this shop again soon.

Favorite Spring 2011 Collection (so far): Charlotte Ronson
Her ode to the nineties flashed me back to Pearl Jam and middle school. She made grunge pretty, which is not easy to do. See the rest here

Favorite New/Old T Shirt: 49ers Champions Circa 1982

Found this at Afterlife Boutique. Known for selling hard to find old tees (sports and music mostly), a few other vintage items and some new clothing as well, such as Cheap Monday.

Favorite Video: Stuck Like Glue by Sugarland
She is so perfectly crazy for this video. Her outfits kill me and the song is so infectious.

My Apologies

So I feel like a mother abandoning her child. I have up and left my blog for weeks now. Life has been a bit crazy, with no time to share. Not even time to get enough sleep. Anyways, I am back now, with lots to say so get ready for a ton of updates on everything. I'll leave you with a video for now, but expect much more tomorrow.

One week.... eeekk!

Fashion week is upon us people and I couldn't be more excited! When I think about what will take place inside those giant tents, I forget the fact that I'm not crazy about Spring clothes, or that I could never possibly keep up with all the shows on style.com (even though I ensure a plan to not miss a single one and yet I undoubtedly fall behind). I just think happiness. Fashion week makes me happy. Period.

Music in the Park

Amazing weekend spent at Golden Gate Park watching the best of the best perform at Outside Lands. Saw some of my favorites (Kings of Leon, Phoenix, The Strokes) and discovered some new acts that were absolutely incredible (Electric Six, The Temper Trap). I wish I had taken more pictures of the people there that had their festival style down to a T and others that didn't. Instead I became a little too engrossed with the music and making sure that I saw everyone I wanted between all 4 stages. Here's a quick recap...

Main Stage

These girls were dressed so cute!

Al Green was so fun to watch

The boys of Phoenix

Kings closing the weekend

Yes, Please

I want it all...

Some of my favs from Leyendecker's Fall 2010 line.  The collection is imaginative while still being classic. That's hard to do.  I think I need some sequin leggings, like yesterday. I also love how they took the ever popular braid trend and used them in a WHOLE new way.

See the rest of the collection here.

Get On Your Boots

I believe there are certain things that one should invest in. These things can be different for everyone depending on their lifestyle. The two things I invest in are jeans (I wear them everyday) and boots. A good pair of boots will last you years! My first pair I ever bought at J. Crew 5 years ago are still in great condition. They have that great broken-in look and are still comfortable to this day. I started with one pair of boots, and got another the year after. Now, I buy at least 2 a year. It sounds like a lot, but I live in boots in the fall and winter. Living in San Francisco, I am able to wear boots about 9 months out of the year and not look ridiculous.
Thankfully this year there are so many boot options to chose from. I will have quite a time trying to decide which ones to invest in this year. Here are some of my favorites of the season so far...

Frye Riding Boots $458

Jefferey Campbell Strap Bootie $230

Joe's Jeans Over the Knee Boot $350

Jeffery Campbell Wedge Booties $200

Marc By Marc Jacobs Back Zip Boot $545

Pour La Victoire Lace Up Wedge $310

J.Crew Sutton Tall Leather Boots $298

Song of the Week

The new album by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals has been on repeat; not just on my stereo, but in my head. The one song that I continue to play over and over again is 'Medicine'. They did a great live version on the Jimmy Kimmel Show a few weeks ago. See if you can get it out of your head. Enjoy :)

Wish List

Now that stores are starting to see fall merchandise trickle in, I have started compiling my fall wish list. It also helps that it's August in San Francisco, meaning that it's perfect weather to start wearing all the fall goodies- which makes me VERY happy :) Now, I'm not a fan of online shopping, but I am an avid online browser. I like to find things I love online and then hunt them down at a store. Here are a few items I've found recently that are on my 'do I really need this?' wish list...

I've wanted a cape, for like, ever.
We'll see if I bring one home this year.

Love the tortoise band.
Not something you see very often.

Not a fan of cargo pants
(cuz you know, the added bulk)
but I'm intrigued by the skinny version.

Umm, A-M- AZING!

Really want to rock some shearling this year.
The hood makes it practical. Love it!

Little adoration when you have
a bad hair day. Would wear this often.

The Boxford. (Did I just invent a new word?)
The boot-oxford hybrid- in a wedge.
Need I say more?

Wool/ Cashmere Cape - Hanii Y                 $685
Tortoise Shell Watch - Urban Outfitters       $28
Skinny Cargo Pants - Urban Outfitters         $58
Hey DJ Triple Finger Ring - Threadsence      $16
Faux Shearling Jacket - Aqua                     $198
Gold Chain Headband - Threadsence           $56
Oxford Wedges - Cynthia Vincent               $325

To Chop or Not to Chop

That is the question. Seeing this new picture of Scarlett Johansson and her freshly cut hair makes me seriously consider chopping the whole thing off. Hmm.... what to do?

Obsessed With...

These boots...
And I would wear them with...

Boots: Steven
Jacket: Marc Jacobs
Jeans: J Brand
Tee: Saint James ®
Scarf: Madewell

Happiness is a New Bag

To quote Carrie Bradshaw  "Hello,  Lover". My new bag, courtesy of J Crew. It is just about half my size, which makes me giddy. Who doesn't love a big bag? I had recently started using smaller, cross-body bags to get me to and from work easily. I thought that I had converted to the smaller bag until I saw this one. Fall doesn't just bring on more layers, but bigger bags to carry the extra scarves, gloves, etc. you may need to get you through the different climates. Take a look and fall in love...

Back In Action

Sorry for the lack of updates, but I was on vacation. My plan was to update during downtime during the vacation, but that didn't happen. My family and I met our relatives from Canada and Seattle in Sunriver, Oregon just like we do every 2 years. We rent out houses for the week and spend quite a relaxing time together. I did want to take more pictures, but it didn't work out like I'd hoped. Here are a few that I did have time to take.

View of Mt. Shasta on the drive up to Oregon.

My Dad and I getting tattoos (temporary) in Weed, CA.
His is the SF 49er symbol and mine the Rolling Stones

My jewelry laid out in the closet of the condo we stayed in.

Me on my last day in Bend. Beautiful view behind me.
